Before you upload
Two ways to design for fabric printing
Unlike a fixed-size product, fabric has a set width (typically 150 cm) and an open length — you decide how many meters you order. Choose the approach that suits your design.
Option A
Seamless Tile / Repeat Pattern
Design one tile — we repeat it across the full fabric width and length. Best for patterns, florals, geometrics and surface designs.

- ✓Tile width must divide evenly into 150 cm
- ✓Example: 25 cm tile → repeats 6× across
Option B
Panel Design
Design at the full fabric width (150 cm) and a fixed height. The panel repeats vertically along the length. Best for placement prints or engineered designs.

300 DPI at actual print size recommended. Min. 150 DPI. Design at the tile or panel's real-world dimensions in cm.
RGB preferred for digital textile printing. CMYK is accepted but colours may shift slightly during conversion.
PNG, JPG, PDF, AI or PSD. Max 25 MB. Add a note in the Upload notes field to tell us if your design is a tile or panel.

Upload your file
Select your fabric type and upload your design file. We accept JPG, PNG, PDF and AI. Max 25MB.
We check your file
Our team reviews every file for resolution, colour profile and bleed before printing. We contact you if anything needs adjusting.
We print your design
Printed fresh at our Dutch studio on your chosen fabric. Colours are reproduced as accurately as possible to your file.
Dispatched to you
Cut, rolled and shipped within 2–5 working days. Tracked delivery straight to your door.
Before you upload
File specifications
To get the best possible print result, please make sure your file meets these requirements before uploading.
JPG, PNG, PDF, AI or SVG
Minimum 150 DPI at print size. 300 DPI recommended for sharp results.
RGB preferred. CMYK is accepted but colours may shift slightly.
25 MB per upload. Contact us for larger files.
Design a seamless tile if you want a repeating pattern. We print your file as-is.
Our fabrics are 110–160 cm wide. Design for full-width for best results.
💡 Pro tip
Design your artwork at 150 cm × 100 cm at 150 DPI to match one full fabric repeat. Use our Fabric Spec page to check which fabric suits your project.
📢 Colour note
Screen colours and printed colours will always differ slightly. Every fabric base absorbs ink differently. We recommend ordering a sample swatch before a large print run.
Zero Waste by Design
Every meter is printed on demand — exclusively for you. We never produce in bulk, which means no overstock and no wasted materials.
GOTS Certified
We use eco-friendly fabric dyes that meet the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), ensuring safety and environmental responsibility throughout production.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100
Our materials come from responsible, certified suppliers. Every fabric is tested to guarantee it is free from harmful substances — safe for you, your family and the environment.
Eco-Friendly Inks
We print with water-based inks. You may notice a faint vinegar scent on new fabric — this is completely normal and disappears after the first wash.
Colour Variations
Every fabric base has its own texture and absorbency, meaning printed colours may appear slightly different across fabric types. This is a natural characteristic of digital textile printing, not a defect.
1 – 2 Meters
Your fabric will be sent as one continuous piece.
3+ Meters
Orders of 3 meters or more may arrive in two separate pieces. The total length ordered will always be fulfilled.
Length Tolerance
A slight variation of up to 5% in fabric length is possible. This is within the normal range for printed textiles and is not considered a defect.
Minimum Order
Our minimum order is 1 meter per design. Larger quantities receive better per-unit pricing — see our volume discount table above.
Samples
Want to check quality and colour before ordering in bulk? Samples are available on request — select up to 20 designs and email info@familyfabrics.nl. Cost: €30.
Our fabrics are printed with eco-friendly, water-based inks. A little care goes a long way in keeping your creations looking vibrant.
Machine Wash
Gentle cycle at 30°C, 400 rpm. Use a phosphate-free detergent. Avoid bleach and harsh stain removers.
Drying
The fabric is most delicate when wet — do not rub or wring. Air dry only. Skip the tumble dryer to preserve print and shape.
Ironing
Use a low heat setting and always iron on the reverse side of the print to prevent fading.
Vinegar Scent?
Completely normal. The faint scent comes from our natural dye-fixing process and disappears entirely after the first wash.
Colour Variation
Colours may vary slightly between different fabric types due to differences in texture and absorbency — a natural property of digital printing.
Production & Dispatch
We manufacture on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Orders are typically processed and shipped within 2–5 working days.
Shipping Carriers
EU orders: DHL or DPD
Non-EU orders: UPS or PostNL
Tracking
You will receive a tracking link once your order is dispatched. If your status has not updated after 48 hours, please contact us. If your package has not arrived within 3 weeks we will open an investigation with the carrier.
DPD Service Points
If your package is delivered to a DPD service point, please collect it within 7 days to avoid it being returned to us.
VAT
All prices include VAT for EU orders. Business customers with a valid EU VAT number can have VAT removed at checkout. Non-EU customers may be subject to import duties in their country.
No Returns on Printed Fabric
Because every order is printed and cut on demand especially for you, we are unable to accept returns. Custom-printed fabric cannot be restocked or resold once produced — this is the nature of our process.
Colour Variations
Colours may appear slightly different across fabric types due to texture and absorbency differences. We always recommend ordering a sample before placing a large order. Minor colour variation is not considered a defect.
Wrong Item or Defect?
If you received the wrong item or your fabric arrived damaged, contact us within 2 months via our complaint form. Include your order number and a clear photo — we will respond within 2 working days and arrange a solution.
Large Orders
We strongly recommend ordering samples first when placing large orders. Since custom-printed fabric cannot be resold, we are unable to make exceptions for large quantities ordered incorrectly.
Our Commitment to Loyal Customers
We care about the people who choose us. While we cannot accept standard returns, we review every situation individually. For customers experiencing an issue outside our standard policy, we may offer store credit as a gesture of goodwill. Don't hesitate to reach out — we will always try to find a fair solution together.
